handle many jobs
at once?

Run AI helpers side by side, and by the fifth window, you lose track. That's the DeepSeek team's own experience. Each window works alone and shares nothing, so you do all the switching and remembering. AI keeps getting better at solo work. Now the bottleneck is your attention.

On November 1st, they published a long essay about making one AI work like a taxi dispatch desk. The dispatcher sits at the desk, takes every passenger's call, and never drives. Each new order gets its own driver. The driver handles just that one trip, and reports back to the desk.

So the dispatcher's hands are always free. You can bring up the next thing right away, without waiting for the last one to finish. Let's follow one group-chat message. Someone writes: the website won't load. Nobody mentions the AI. First it passes a gate. The gate is plain code that only checks who sent it and where. Small talk stops here, no AI thinking needed.

Only then does the AI decide: is this worth handling? It is. So the front desk sends out a worker AI, just for this one problem. A bit later, the same person adds: it won't load on phones either. This message skips the desk and goes straight to the worker fixing it.

Like a passenger changing the pickup spot: the call goes right to their driver. When messages flood in, the desk stays calm. Whatever piled up during one round gets read and dispatched together in the next. They call this a Super-agent. The dispatch desk is the router layer, and the drivers are the worker layer.

Whether you reach it in chat, email, or on a code platform, you're always talking to the same front desk. There's also a patrol AI. Every so often it makes the rounds, and pulls any worker that's going in circles back on track. They tested it with three hundred simulated messages. With a front desk, even the slowest jobs finished within sixteen minutes. One window doing everything took nearly half an hour.

It's their own simulation, so treat it as an early result. One puzzle is still unsolved. Split the front desk more, and it answers faster, but each piece remembers less. If you had to pick: one that's slower but remembers everything, or a fast crew that barely knows each other?

1

In one line

Give the AI a front desk. The desk only listens and hands out work. Worker AIs do the jobs. You only talk to the desk.

On November 1, 2026, the DeepSeek team published a long essay about this design. They call it a Super-agent.

How it differs
from what you do now

NOW
One window per job.
You switch between them.
The windows share nothing, so you keep track of everything. The DeepSeek team says, from their own experience, that three to five at once is a person's limit.
SUPER-AGENT
You talk to one desk.
It hands out work and keeps track.
The desk never does the work itself, so its hands are always free. You can bring up the next thing right away.

Think of a taxi dispatch desk. The dispatcher takes every call and never drives. Each order gets its own driver, who reports back when done.

Follow one
group-chat message

Someone writes in the team chat: "The website won't load." Nobody mentions the AI.

① Pass the gateThe gate is plain code. It only checks who sent it and where. Small talk stops here, with no AI thinking needed.

③ Send a workerThe desk sends out one worker AI, just for this problem. The worker doesn't talk to people. It reports only to the desk.
④ Follow-ups go straight throughThe same person adds: "It won't load on phones either." This skips the desk and goes right to the worker fixing it.

A few more tricks

Batch the pileWhen messages flood in, whatever piles up in one round gets read and sent out together in the next.
Always the same deskChat, email, or a code platform: you reach the same desk every time.
A patrol AIEvery so often it makes the rounds and pulls any worker going in circles back on track.
They tested itIn a 300-message simulation, even the slowest jobs finished within 16 minutes with a desk. One window doing everything took nearly 30.

This is their own simulation, so treat it as an early result. The essay also says it describes a design idea, not a feature DeepSeek Harness already has.

One puzzle
is still open

Split the desk more and it answers faster,
but each piece remembers less.
One desk remembers everything but slows down when busy. Several desks are faster but barely know each other. The essay says this trade-off will stay until shared memory is solved.

Let It Rewrite Its Own Manual

When an AI keeps failing in the same place, the fix is often not the AI: let a second AI review old mistakes and suggest edits, and a human approves.
